Former first-round selection Harry Giles III, who worked out for the Warriors this summer, has signed a one-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets. After a possible two-way contract center was signed with a rival team on Friday, the Golden State Warriors' hunt for additional big man depth will continue. The 25-year-old has earned his way back into the NBA after his last season with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2020-21. In 9.2 minutes per game, he averaged 2.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists.
Giles was picked by the Portland Trail Blazers but was traded to the Sacramento Kings on draft night. In two seasons, the 6'11" big man appeared in 104 games for the organization, averaging nearly seven points and four rebounds in little over 14 minutes per game. Giles will now compete for minutes with the Nets behind emerging young shot blocker Nic Claxton, with Day'Ron Sharpe the team's only other legitimate center.
