Brooklyn Nets edged past the New York Knicks on Monday in Brooklyn, with a 114-112 score and a strong contribution by Kyrie Irving who had 40 points in the net and scored a key 3-pointer at the last minute with Jeff Green and his free throws that helped seal a win. Nets clawed their way back in the game after being 10 points down at halftime and did not have James Harden to power them as he left the field due to hamstring tightness.
Nets looked exhausted as well with their second leg of a back-to-back game and their loss to Chicago for 115-107. New York also put up a big fight but lost their 13 points lead to finally enter the fourth quarter one point in the deficit and Brooklyn overpowered the team with Irving at the forefront and lay waste to Julius Randle’s triple-double with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists
