LA Lakers defeated by Phoenix Suns in playoff opener

The Phoenix Suns have topped the reigning champions of NBA Los Angeles Lakers and won their first playoff match since 2010 by 99-90 on Sunday. The star players of Phoenix Suns Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton played brilliance for the hosts in Game 1 of the playoff series first round and contributed 34 and 21 points respectively. Then coach of Lakers Frank Vogel said that he was impressed with the performance of Booker and that he is a scoring machine and puts a lot of pressure on the Lakers defense to cover him.

Chris Paul had his left shoulder injury in the second quarter after colliding with Cameron Johnson and then falling to the ground. He was in pain but yet returned to the match before leaving later in the fourth quarter. The Phoenix coach Monty Williams has said that Paul will be fine and him playing in the match energized the team.
