Every time the Lakers on the floor, it seems as though LeBron James is in some way making history. The NBA's all-time scoring record, which is currently held by Lakers icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, is obviously the record that James needs to break the most, and LeBron has now accomplished a feat that only Kareem has accomplished.
Just 11 points were required for James to surpass 38,000 for his career heading into Sunday night's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. LeBron quickly took advantage of the opportunity, making a midrange jump shot to score his 11th and 12th points in the fourth quarter in only seven minutes. In his 20th season, James is still accomplishing feats that, if anybody in the sport has ever accomplished them. LeBron has never thought of himself as a scorer, despite being second only to Abdul-Jabbar in NBA scoring history.
