Mazzulla and his staff will coach Team Giannis

Since the Boston Celtics acquired the best record in the Eastern Conference throughout the first half of the season, Mazzulla and his team will lead Team Giannis in the tournament. Philadelphia 76ers, who are in second place, are 2.5 games behind the C's and won't be able to catch up by the deadline on February 5. This season, Mazzulla has guided the Celtics to a league-best 36-15 record.

Since taking over for Ime Udoka, who the team suspended for the remainder of the 2022–23 season owing to infractions of team regulations, he has thrived in his position as temporary coach. Tatum will travel to Utah as an All-Star starter as well. Jaylen Brown, a teammate of his, will almost probably be selected as an All-Star reserve. The decision on the All-Star squads won't be made until the game day. The All-Star activities will run from February 17 through 19.
