The Milwaukee Bucks have officially appointed Taylor Jenkins as their new head coach, with ownership praising his attention to detail, toughness and communication skills as foundations for a winning culture. General manager Jon Horst echoed that sentiment, describing Jenkins as an innovative and determined coach whose basketball intelligence and leadership have consistently produced competitive teams. Jenkins, returning to Milwaukee after previously serving as an assistant under Mike Budenholzer in 2018‑19, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and highlighted his connection with the city and its supporters.
The 41‑year‑old arrives after six seasons in charge of the Memphis Grizzlies, where he compiled a 250‑214 record, reached the playoffs four times and tied the franchise record with 56 wins in 2021‑22, a season that earned him a Coach of the Year finalist spot. His résumé also includes roles with the Atlanta Hawks and the G League’s Austin Toros. Jenkins becomes the 19th coach in Bucks history and will be introduced on 6 May.
