The winning total last year was 211 points; this year, just 41. The first-ever NBA All-Star mini-tournament replaced the traditional game but still featured plenty of flair. In the end, Jayson Tatum’s dunk sealed the title for Shaq’s OGs, who defeated Chuck’s Global Stars 41-25 in the final.
Tatum led with 15 points, while Stephen Curry added 12, including a signature half-court shot. Curry, named MVP on his home floor at Chase Center, called the weekend “a celebration of great things.” The title game was one-sided early, as the Global Stars started 0-for-10 from the field and fell into an 11-0 hole. With a first-to-40 format, there was little chance for a comeback. The halftime show—an 18-minute tribute to TNT—lasted longer than the game itself. San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama led the Global Stars with 11 points in the final. He was visibly frustrated when Tatum scored the title-clinching basket.
