The San Antonio Spurs have made a roster adjustment by signing forward Stanley Umude. Although Umude participated in training camp, he was waived just before the season began. Staying with the franchise's G-League affiliate, he impressed by averaging 20.5 points and 5.6 rebounds while shooting 39.5% from deep in eleven games. The 26-year-old has NBA experience, totaling forty-seven career games, including twenty-two with the Milwaukee Bucks last season. He previously played for the Detroit Pistons, averaging 5.3 points in 2023-24.
To make room for Umude, San Antonio released Kyle Mangas. Mangas did not appear in any NBA games for the Spurs after signing a two-way contract. However, he was productive in the G-League with the Austin Spurs, averaging 16.5 points and 5.0 assists per game while shooting over 39% from beyond the arc across eleven appearances. This strategic move shuffles the team's developmental talent as the current regular season continues.
