The Philadelphia 76ers are filling a position of need

Guerschon Yabusele has signed a one-year, $2.1 million minimum salary contract with the Philadelphia Sixers, sources confirmed Sunday. The 6-foot-8, 271-pound French power forward, who earned the nickname "the dancing bear," helped secure a silver medal for France in the Paris Olympics, showcasing his impressive skills. Yabusele, who recently resolved a $2.5 million buyout with Real Madrid, returns to the NBA after stints abroad. Drafted 16th overall by the Boston Celtics in 2016, he initially played with the Shanghai Sharks before joining the Celtics for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.

With the Celtics, he averaged 2.3 points and 1.4 rebounds per game over 73 appearances. Yabusele later played for the Nanjing Monkey Kings, ASVEL in France, and Real Madrid, where he won the 2023 EuroLeague title and averaged 9.6 points per game last season. His strong Olympic performance, including 19.6 points per game in the medal round, further highlights his scoring prowess.
