Since returning from a groin ailment six games ago, Julius Randle has been playing a variety of roles for the Wolves (38-29), mostly using his playmaking skills. However, Randle delivered the scoring power he had displayed in New York during the previous several seasons on Wednesday night. After making back-to-back baskets to start the fourth quarter and then making a 3-pointer to give the Wolves a 21-point lead, Randle got Minnesota began with nine points in the first quarter, countering a strong effort from Jokic.
In 28 minutes, Randle ended with 25 points (9-for-12 shooting), four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Anthony Edwards had a team-high 29 points, six assists and four rebounds. He scored 10 points in the third quarter as the Wolves stretched their lead to 14 despite Jokic and Murray each putting up double-digit scoring frames.
