Molineux cleared to captain Australia on West Indies tour

Australia have confirmed a 15‑player squad for their white‑ball tour of the West Indies, with Tahlia Wilson receiving her first international selection and Sophie Molineux appointed captain across formats. The group also features Lucy Hamilton and Nicola Carey, who keep their spots after the India series. Grace Harris is the most notable omission from the T20 squad, while Annabel Sutherland will sit out the tour under a workload‑management plan.

Molineux, who missed the final ODIs against India due to a back issue, has reportedly recovered well and is expected to lead in her first full series as captain, though selectors may manage her match‑by‑match involvement. National selector Shawn Flegler praised her growing leadership and highlighted the tour’s importance ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Running from March 19 to April 2, the trip includes three T20Is and three ODIs in St Vincent and St Kitts, marking the start of a new era for Australia’s evolving lineup.
