Australia reclaim Women’s T20 throne

Australia captured the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title with a commanding seven‑wicket victory over England at Lord’s, completing an unbeaten campaign before a record crowd of more than 28,000. England posted 150/4 thanks to Nat Sciver‑Brunt’s gritty 58 and Freya Kemp’s explosive 44, but Australia’s disciplined bowling kept the hosts from breaking free.

Lucy Hamilton, Annabel Sutherland, Kim Garth and Sophie Molineux each claimed key wickets to restrict England’s momentum. In reply, Georgia Voll set the tone immediately, and Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield built a decisive 100‑run stand, scoring freely both in and beyond the powerplay.

Litchfield struck 48 off 35, while Mooney anchored the chase with a superb 64 off 49—her third fifty in a T20 World Cup final. Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner finished the job in 17.1 overs, sealing Australia’s seventh T20 title and 14th women’s World Cup overall.
