Litton sidelined for Zimbabwe ODIs with hamstring setback

Bangladesh batter Litton Kumar Das has been ruled out of the remaining ODI series against Zimbabwe after failing to recover from a hamstring injury, the Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed on Wednesday. The opener missed the first match in Harare and did not pass a fitness test ahead of the second game, prompting team management to send him back to Dhaka for rehabilitation.

Left‑hander Parvez Hossain Emon has been named as Litton’s replacement for the second and third ODIs. Team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said Litton remained “not match‑fit” and was unlikely to progress quickly enough with back‑to‑back fixtures scheduled. Bangladesh trail the three‑match series 0‑1, with the remaining games set for July 9 and 11.

Litton is also expected to miss the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe, as he is due to participate in the next edition of the Lanka Premier League, further delaying his return to international action.
