The O2 Arena, which has double the capacity as the Copper Box Arena, would host Worlds 2024 in contrast to 2023's Mid-Season Invitational, which was held there. JD Gaming won MSI 2023, making it the third consecutive MSI that a Chinese team has won. The game between JDG and the top seed from LCK, T1, broke the all-time peak viewing for an MSI event with approximately 2.3 million viewers, making the tournament a huge success in terms of spectators. 

Royal Never Give Up and T1's series from the previous year, which peaked at 2.19 million viewers, held the previous MSI record, according to Esports Charts.
