Lorenzo: “Unfortunately, Ducati has made a huge step forward”

Jorge Lorenzo, now training Maverick Viñales, analyzed the bike’s dominance compared to rival machines.

“Unfortunately, Ducati has clearly taken a major step,” the five-time champion stated. He observed that while other bikes appear nervous, the GP26 remains exceptionally fluid and electric, particularly during corner exits and acceleration.

Lorenzo highlighted distinct technical advantages, noting how the rear sits incredibly low to aid acceleration and prevent wheelies. He also pointed out the massive, Formula 1-style front wings that generate crucial stability. Although acknowledging that Aprilia and Honda have improved, Lorenzo fears Ducati effectively utilized the previous year to develop a machine that is noticeably superior. With Bagnaia and the Marquez brothers performing strong sprint simulations, Ducati’s stability currently seems unmatched on the grid.
