Como continued their impressive Serie A campaign with a 3-1 away victory over Fiorentina on Sunday, piling further pressure on the struggling hosts. Goals from Mattia Liberali, Nico Paz and Anastasios Douvikas secured three valuable points for Cesc Fabregas’ team.
Liberali broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute with a precise long-range finish before Paz doubled Como’s advantage four minutes later, heading home Alex Valle’s cross.
Fiorentina responded through Marin Pongracic, who capitalised on a loose ball in the 43rd minute. The defender appeared to equalise again in stoppage time, but VAR ruled out his effort for offside.
Como restored their two-goal cushion in the 56th minute when Paz set up Douvikas for a composed finish.
The result lifts Como into fourth place, strengthening their European ambitions, while Fiorentina remain 19th with just four points from seven matches.
