Julian Alvarez ends partnership with agent after unsettled summer

Julian Alvarez has officially ended his professional relationship with agent Fernando Hidalgo following a turbulent summer in which the Argentine striker remained at Atletico Madrid despite uncertainty over his future.

According to reports from Spain, the split had been expected for several weeks before being confirmed on Thursday. Former Argentina international Javier Pastore has emerged as the leading candidate to take charge of Alvarez's representation, while Pablo Barquero, who represents Rodri, is also in contention.

Barquero's involvement could strengthen Alvarez's links with Barcelona in future transfer windows, given his connection to the Spain midfielder, who joined the Catalan club last summer.

The change marks a significant step for Alvarez as he evaluates his long-term career plans following a summer of speculation over his future.
