Rafael Leão’s Turkish adventure began with a promising debut as Galatasaray edged Basaksehir 3–2 in a chaotic Super Lig encounter at the Fatih Terim Stadium. The match featured familiar Serie A faces, with Osimhen, Shomurodov, Torreira and Skov Olsen all involved. Osimhen opened the scoring early, before the second half exploded: Shomurodov equalised from the spot, Torreira restored Galatasaray’s lead, and an own goal from Davinson Sánchez made it 2–2. Gabriel Sara then struck at the 90th minute to seal the win.
Leão entered in the 68th minute and endured a shaky start, picking up a yellow card within ten minutes. He soon improved, contributing to the move that produced Torreira’s goal with a neat left‑footed pass to Jakobs and later provoking Bozok’s red card. Not a dazzling debut, but certainly an encouraging one. Now Leão prepares for his Champions League bow at Sporting and his first appearance at the Atatürk Stadium.
