Messi has unveiled the special shirt for his final match with Argentina

Lionel Messi has unveiled the special shirt he will wear for his final match with Argentina, presenting a commemorative design featuring gold lettering across his name and iconic No. 10. The Albiceleste captain shared the kit on social media with the caption “Last match… A shirt for a lifetime”, ahead of his farewell fixture against Benin on 6 October at the Estadio Monumental.

The jersey maintains Argentina’s traditional sky‑blue and white stripes but introduces gold detailing on the collar, cuffs and AFA crest. Messi’s name and number are embroidered in gold, while the back features sunbeams radiating from the centre of the 10, a tribute to the Sun of May on the national coat of arms.

Messi announced his international retirement on 31 August, stating he had “nothing left to give” after two decades with the national team. The bespoke shirt adds a symbolic touch to an already historic farewell.
