According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN in a SportsCenter interview today, the Charlotte Hornets will pick Brandon Miller second overall in the 2023 NBA draught. Miller "solidified his position" as the second selection and "continues to be the focus" for the Hornets, according to Wojnarowski, following their meeting with departing owner Michael Jordan and the team yesterday.
The third choice in the draught belongs to the Portland Trail Blazers. Portland will have the option to choose Scoot Henderson, who is widely considered as a star point guard in the making, if the Hornets choose Miller. Prior to French centre Victor Wembanyama taking the top pick in the draught, Henderson was expected to be a strong contender. According to Wojnarowski, the Hornets' preference for point guard LaMelo Ball plays a role in their choice. In the NBA, Miller is anticipated to play small forward.
