Four-time NBA All-Star point guard Kemba Walker announced his retirement from professional basketball on Tuesday.
Walker announced the news in a message posted on social media. Walker spent the previous season playing for AS Monaco in the EuroLeague after spending 12 years playing in the NBA. “I’m here to share that I am officially retiring from the game of basketball. This has all been a dream. When I look back, I still can’t believe the things I achieved in my career, “Walker wrote while thanking his family, former teammates, and coaches. During his collegiate years, Kemba Walker gained notoriety by leading the UConn Huskies to a national championship in 2011. He declared for the NBA Draft that same year, and the Charlotte Bobcats—who would eventually become the Hornets—took him ninth overall.
