In Game 5, Doncic just wouldn't go down, not in the face of several injuries and definitely not against any Los Angeles Clippers in a resounding victory that sent his Dallas Mavericks into the second round. The Mavericks won 123-93 on Wednesday night and took a 3-2 lead in the first-round series thanks to 20 of Doncic's 35 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds in the second half.
The Mavericks closed down on the Clippers defensively and delivered Los Angeles the largest margin of loss in franchise postseason history thanks to five 3-pointers from Maxi Kleber and 14 points from Kyrie Irving. Doncic's apparent sickness is also slowing him down, and his ailing knee has hindered him at points during the series. But as the night in downtown Los Angeles wore on, he obviously became more at ease and deadly.
