PJ Tucker has officially retired at forty‑one, closing a unique and hard‑earned NBA career. The North Carolina native steps away after 886 regular‑season games and a championship run with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021. His path was anything but linear: selected thirty‑fifth in the 2006 Draft, he spent only one season in Toronto before leaving the league and rebuilding his game overseas. Tucker’s five‑year odyssey took him through Israel, Ukraine, Greece and Italy with Sutor Montegranaro, before a standout EuroLeague campaign with Brose Bamberg in 2011‑12 propelled him back to the NBA.
Over the next fifteen seasons he became one of the league’s most respected 3‑and‑D specialists, carving out roles in Toronto, Phoenix, Houston, Milwaukee, Miami, Philadelphia, the Clippers and New York. His résumé includes 105 playoff appearances and a reputation for toughness, professionalism and defensive intensity that defined his long tenure in the league.
