Sacramento Kings had a nice thing going with Richaun Holmes. He joined as a free agent in the summer of 2019, inking a two-year $10 million contract with the Kings. Holmes later proved to be an asset to the dilapidated team with his debut season averaging 12.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and this season he topped it off with 14.2 points 8.3 rebounds, 1.6 blocks. The 27-year-old is now hitting free agency again with the hopes of landing four years,$20 million per year contract.
Experts believe that to be a far-fetched dream, as in his position a lot cheaper and more impactful alternatives are present. But one thing is certain Kings can not afford Holmes anymore after they the extended the contract of Fox ($28 million), Buddy Hield ($22 million), and Barnes ($20 million). Now Hornets are eyeing the player to play alongside LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward.
