Both teams were solid in their positions when they faced the Memphis Grizzlies, and the game had little bearing on the playoffs. Both clubs began resting their key rotation players at that point. With the help of a few players who seized the chance of receiving significant playing time, the shorthanded Thunder defeated the similarly shorthanded Grizzlies 115–110. Due to both clubs resting their starting lineups as well as their depth players, the opening quarter of the game was low-scoring.
After the opening period, the Grizzlies lead the Thunder 24-20. The Thunder's Jared Butler, who received the start, led the team with five points in the opening period. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Ousmane Dieng both scored four points. In his six minutes of action in the first half, Aaron Wiggins scored six points. Each starter played 20 or more minutes in the first half, which was a tremendous workload for them.
