Thoughts on Bucks resigning of Serge Ibaka

Milwaukee Bucks have been active this offseason with the signing of Bobby Portis, Jevon Carter, Wesley Matthews, and Serge Ibaka. They have entered into a one-year deal with veteran center Serge Ibaka who is returning to the team after spending the last season with them. Bucks would have almost the same roster next season as well with few tweaks.

Ibaka’s comeback to Bucks is surprising as ever, the player spent most of his 2022 postseason warming the bench thus it looked like playing time would be his priority as he entered free agency but a return to Bucks was shocking. Bucks’ center has been prone to injuries as well, Brook Lopez could manage just 13 appearances before dropping out of the roster after back surgery. After trying out Bobby Portis, DeMarcus Cousins, Greg Monroe, and Luke Kornet before they landed on Ibaka.
