Just one week after initially signing him to the squad, the Toronto Raptors have officially decided to waive center Mo Bamba from their active roster. Originally selected as the high-profile sixth overall pick during the 2018 NBA Draft, Bamba actually began this current basketball season playing within the G League before eventually making his way to the Raptors organization. While competing in the developmental league, he posted solid statistics, averaging 16.5 points alongside 11.9 rebounds and 2.7 blocks over fourteen games with the Salt Lake City Stars.
However, his subsequent time with the Canadian franchise in the NBA was incredibly brief. He appeared on the court for merely four minutes against the Orlando Magic and ninety-three seconds facing Atlanta. Since Bamba held a non-guaranteed deal with Toronto, this specific roster move means he immediately becomes an unrestricted free agent who is now available to be signed by any other team.
