Netherlands name experienced squad for League 2 Test

The Netherlands have confirmed a strong 15‑man squad for next month’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 tri‑series in Canada, retaining most of the players who featured at the T20 World Cup earlier this year. Captain Scott Edwards again leads the side, joined by key figures Bas de Leede, Max O’Dowd and veteran spinner Roelof van der Merwe. All‑rounder Sebastian Braat earns a notable recall, putting him in line for his first international appearance since 2021 after excelling in the domestic Topklasse competition.

Head coach Ryan Cook highlighted the encouraging domestic form across the squad and welcomed the chance to integrate hardworking talent while building on recent World Cup experience. The Netherlands currently sit fourth in the League 2 standings, with the top four progressing to the Qualifier for the 2027 Cricket World Cup. All matches will be played at Maple Leaf CC in King City, beginning with the USA on June 8.
