Rahul Dravid has been unveiled as the owner of the Dublin Guardians, completing the six‑team structure of the European T20 Premier League ahead of its 2026 debut. The announcement, made in Dublin with Dravid and league promoter Abhishek Bachchan present, marks a major milestone for the new cross‑border competition created in partnership with Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland and the Royal Dutch Cricket Association. The ETPL will feature franchises from Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Rotterdam and Amsterdam, and is expected to attract high‑profile international players such as Mitchell Marsh, Tim David, Mitchell Santner, Liam Livingstone, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis and Heinrich Klaasen.
Dravid said he was drawn to the project by its ambition to grow cricket across Europe, emphasising grassroots development and pathways for emerging talent. He highlighted Dublin’s passionate cricket community and its potential for expansion, expressing confidence that the league can play a meaningful role in nurturing the next generation.
