Sri Lanka–India Tests set for mid‑August window

Sri Lanka and India are set to contest their two‑Test series in the second half of August, with officials from both boards indicating that the matches will be scheduled between August 15 and 27. While the exact dates are still being finalised, Sri Lanka Cricket has already informed stakeholders, including the Indian team, of the proposed window. The Tests will follow the Lanka Premier League, which ends on August 9, and form part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia is currently in Sri Lanka as part of an ICC delegation assessing the situation at SLC, recently placed under an interim Transformation Committee by the government. Discussions during his visit may touch on the tour, though adding the three proposed T20Is remains complicated. India face a congested calendar, with a possible Bangladesh tour, a home series against West Indies, the Asian Games and T20Is against Afghanistan all clustered around September.
