DBL PONEY took out Savage 2-1 in the grand finale of the European closed qualifier to secure a seat at the $100,000 North American LAN event. This would be the European team’s second LAN appearance. The French squad took down Savage with ease as the grand finale turned into a rematch of the upper bracket finals. Frenchmen might be the first European team to book a spot but overall they are the fourth team and would join ORDER, 9z, and Extra Salt.
The ESL Challenger tournament would have four more squads and is scheduled for February 11-13 next year. The Swedes won the first map with a 16-13 scoreline with Frenchmen taking control on Vertigo and annihilating the other side with 16-2 to push a decider at Inferno. In the last round, Pierre "Ex3rcice" Bulinge broke the deadlock and pushed DBL PONEY ahead to win with 16-12 and take the series.
