The remaining four seats at the 16-team LAN that will be held from April 3–9 in Monterrey, Mexico, have been secured by Nouns, Fuscao 1500, TeamOne, and 00NATION, with Evil Geniuses being the most noteworthy team to lose out after losing to TeamOne in the match for seventh place. Due to their better Bucholz scores than the teams that finished with a 3-2 record, Nouns and Fuscao 1500 automatically advanced to the Americas RMR after winning their respective 2-2 matches.
As those two teams advanced, 00NATION was left to play 9z in South America's match for the seventh-place trophy, while Evil Geniuses faced TeamOne in North America. Lucas "nqz" Soares and Santino "try" Rigal, who switched teams at the beginning of the year, squared off in the earlier encounter. One of those players ultimately had to see their Major dreams come to an end, and that person was try, who was unable to outperform his old comrades.
