A team that consistently exceeded all expectations during the 2023 LCS season has ended one of the longest ruling runs in professional League of Legends history. Golden Guardians completed a commanding sweep to advance through the LCS Championship bracket and onto yet another international competition this year. They had to stop Dignitas' rising trajectory in order to keep their Worlds dream alive, particularly by ending Jensen's remarkable seven-year streak of qualifying for and appearing in successive World Championships.
After winning his first title last summer, the seasoned mid-laner left Cloud9 once more, but this year he returned, joining a squad that was almost completely in disarray. Despite having a small number of veterans on its squad, Dignitas suffered during the entire Spring Split, finishing in tenth place with only three wins overall over the course of eight weeks. Now Golden Guardians advance to play squad Liquid in the lower bracket which will decide the third LCS representative at this year's World Championship.
