One of the greatest players in LCS history is stepping away from esports

Soren "Bjergsen" Bjerg, regarded by the majority of League of Legends fans as one of the best players in the game's history, has had an up-and-down career. However, the 27-year-old has put his keyboard and mouse away for good after 100 Thieves' playoff run was ended by Golden Guardians this most recent split, he stated. The statement made by Bjergsen was, "I worked harder than most people, I wanted it more than most of those people, and I was willing to sacrifice time with friends, family, personal interests, hobbies, [and] really just anything."

The accomplished veteran said that as he had already formally retired from on-stage competition, to some this could appear to be a "second retirement." After TSM's dismal 0-6 performance at Worlds in 2020, Bjergsen officially "retired" for the first time, and for the following year, he served as the organisation's head coach.
