SwordArt and TSM part ways early after a year in $6 million deal

Last season SwordArt signed a two-year $6 million contract with TSM to become the highest-paid player in the LCS, a year into the deal and the player is ready to walkway from the deal. The 2020 Worlds finalist did not have the time he was expecting with TSM, the team failed to bag the trophy of 2021 Mid-Season Showdown or Summer Playoffs, and later could not even qualify for the 2021 World Championship.

SwordArt joined the team after spending a season with LPL team Suning who made it all the way to the Worlds final but ultimately fell to the champions South Korea’s DAMWON Gaming. With the decision to move TSM has lost two of their high profile players when Bjergsen, the mid laner and the coach of the team in 2021 decided to end the eight-year stint with the team and move forward.
