Michael Carrick said his dispute with Bruno Fernandes is resolved

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick says his dispute with Bruno Fernandes is resolved, with the Portuguese midfielder set to captain against Chelsea today. Fernandes missed last weekend's defeat to Bournemouth after publicly questioning Carrick's tactics following a Champions League loss to Como, serving a disciplinary exile.

Carrick and Fernandes cleared the air in private talks at Carrington this week, both eager to move forward for a squad winless for six weeks.

"Bruno is completely committed to the team and there is no issue. We move on," Carrick told reporters Thursday. "He is a massive player for this group. He has been and he will be."

Carrick enters the Chelsea clash fighting to save his job, with defeat against Xabi Alonso's side potentially triggering dismissal just five months into a two-year contract.
