Neymar hit by 'Prestianni Law' with three-game ban

Neymar has fallen foul of Brazil's so-called Prestianni Law, earning a direct red and three-match ban after covering his mouth during an argument.

The incident came late in the first half of Santos' 1-1 draw with Bahia in round 32. In a heated exchange with Rodrigo Nestor, Neymar covered his mouth while speaking. After Nestor's complaint and VAR check, referee Savio Sampaio issued a straight red.

The rule, introduced in Brazil after Vinicius Jr's clash with Gianluca Prestianni at Benfica- Real Madrid, sanctions mouth-covering to prevent unverifiable insults.

The report adds Neymar tried to confront Bahia's bench after dismissal but was restrained.

The judge gave two games for conduct plus one for bookings and €20,000 fine. He misses Palmeiras, ended 0-0, Bragantino and Coritiba, returning after November break versus Gremio.
