Detroit and Hamidou Diallo have finally arrived at an agreement, scrapping the restricted free agent status of the player. Both the parties inked a $10.4 million contract for two years, general manager Troy Weaver had earlier shared they would be retaining Diallo for the next season signaling that the move would take place sooner or later. There are three players who would be moved before the season starts Jahlil Okafor, Josh Jackson, and Sekou Doumbouya.
In the 20 games, Diallo played they averaged 11.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists, shooting 46.8% overall, 39% from 3 pointer lane, and 66.2% from the foul line. In the last six matches though he found his momentum and even hit a career-high 35 points against Hornets. The 2018 NBA draft pick by Thunder would get the chance to play alongside Cade Cunningham with Pistons.
