England's all-time leading Test wicket-taker, James Anderson, has signed a new one-year contract with Lancashire, extending his illustrious 25-year career with the county into the 2026 season, when he will be 43.
Following his international retirement in 2024, the veteran fast bowler demonstrated his continued prowess during the 2025 season. He took 17 wickets in six County Championship matches and made a striking return to T20 cricket after a decade-long absence, claiming 14 wickets in the Vitality Blast as Lancashire reached the semi-finals.
Having already made over 300 first-class appearances, Anderson aims to add to his tally of 1,143 wickets in the format since his debut for the club in 2002.
