Dinusha’s twin hundreds seal stunning WTC draw for Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka produced a remarkable final‑day resistance in Colombo to secure a draw against India, with Sonal Dinusha delivering one of the great rearguard performances of the ICC World Test Championship. After India enforced the follow‑on and appeared firmly on course for victory, Dinusha anchored Sri Lanka’s response with his second century of the match and third of the series. Alongside Keshara Nuwantha, he added 100 crucial morning runs, stretching the lead past 100 and frustrating India’s attack. Even as wickets fell after Lunch, Dinusha remained composed, reaching Tea on 98 before completing his second hundred off the first ball of the final session.

Lahiru Kumara’s 90‑ball stand added further resilience, helping extend the lead to safety. Sri Lanka eventually declared, sealing the draw and earning a standing ovation for Dinusha’s extraordinary effort. India claimed the series 1‑0, but Sri Lanka departed with immense credit for a determined fightback.
