Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes endured a troubling evening on Wednesday after his home in Cheshire was broken into shortly after the club’s 4-1 defeat against Como.
Cheshire Police confirmed receiving a report around 8:30 p.m. following sightings of three unidentified men behaving suspiciously in a neighbouring garden. Officers arrived to find the suspects had fled and several items stolen from Fernandes’ property.
Fortunately, the Portuguese midfielder’s family were not home during the incident. United stated that the intruders spent fewer than five minutes inside the house before authorities arrived, adding that the club was offering Fernandes full support. The investigation remains ongoing.
Earlier, Fernandes had expressed frustration after United’s latest defeat, calling for greater courage and a more aggressive pressing approach. The result extended the team’s winless run to seven matches, underlining a difficult period for the Old Trafford side as pressure continues to mount on the squad.
