Germany capped off an unbeaten run through the World Cup

Dennis Schroder of the Raptors, who was named tournament MVP, scored 28 points, Franz Wagner of the Magic added 19, and Germany defeated Serbia 83-77 in the championship game on Sunday night to complete an undefeated run through the World Cup. Germany won the World Cup for the first time; their previous best finish in the competition was a bronze in Indianapolis in 2002.

Germany won the competition 8-0, becoming them the sixth champion to win the World Cup without losing. After the game, Schroder's teammates temporarily disrupted his post-game press conference by dousing him in water and jumping up and down in joy. For Serbia (6-2), who lost the championship game for the second time in the past three competitions, Aleksa Avramovic scored 21 points, while Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Hawks contributed 17.
