Hachimura contract extension doubtful 

The Los Angeles Lakers' contract with Rui Hachimura is about to expire. Hachimura's projected earnings for the 2025–2026 campaign are $18,259,259. In his most recent podcast, beat reporter Jovan Buha stated that it is doubtful that Hachimura will receive a contract extension prior to the start of the upcoming season.

Hachimura is currently 27 years old, and if he makes it to free agency next summer, he will probably receive good offers. The Japanese star was first acquired by the Lakers from the Wizards in January 2023. In 2024–2025, Hachimura made his debut as a full-time starter for the Los Angeles Rams. He shot 50.9% from the field, 41.3% from three-point range, and 77.0% from the foul line while averaging 13.1 points and 5.0 rebounds a game.
