Ghosh joins India’s staff as new fielding coach

Subhadeep Ghosh has been appointed fielding coach of the Indian Men’s Team, replacing T Dilip after his contract was not renewed following the Zimbabwe tour. Ghosh, who played 17 first‑class matches between 1994 and 2004, will begin his tenure during India’s two‑Test series against Sri Lanka in August. He previously coached Assam’s senior side and worked extensively across Indian cricket structures, including the National Cricket Academy, India A, the women’s team and IPL stints with Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

His arrival follows staff changes involving Dilip and Ryan ten Doeschate, adding to Gautam Gambhir’s group alongside batting coach Sitanshu Kotak and bowling coach Morne Morkel. The Assam Cricket Association praised Ghosh’s rise, highlighting his dedication and broad experience across age‑group and professional setups. They described his appointment as a proud moment for the state and an inspiration for young players and coaches aiming to follow his path.
