Barcelona set new El Clasico revenue record

Barcelona have broken their own revenue record for an El Clasico, generating €19.1 million from Sunday’s clash with Real Madrid despite suffering an unexpected defeat.

The figure comfortably surpasses the previous record of €16.46 million, set during May’s Clasico. Remarkably, Sunday’s attendance was lower, with 60,055 spectators compared with 62,213 five months earlier.

Higher ticket prices and expanded VIP areas drove the increase. The average ticket cost €984, around 10% more than last season, while VIP tickets averaged €2,727. Revenue from hospitality reportedly increased by 350%.

Around 86% of the available capacity was occupied by season-ticket holders and club members, with approximately 42,000 subscribers and 10,000 members purchasing tickets during the advance sales period.

Barcelona’s commercial potential could grow significantly once the stadium redevelopment is completed. Capacity is expected to reach 104,600, including 9,500 VIP seats, compared with roughly 5,000 today.
