Cavan Sullivan stays committed to Manchester City despite Barcelona interest

Cavan Sullivan remains committed to joining Manchester City, despite speculation suggesting Barcelona could enter the race for the highly rated American prospect.

The 17-year-old has already agreed to move to the Premier League club, with the transfer scheduled for January 2028, when he becomes eligible to relocate to England. For now, there is no indication he intends to reconsider his decision.

Sullivan is concentrating on his development with Philadelphia Union and the United States national team before taking the next step in his career.

Manchester City’s ongoing financial regulations case has not changed the existing arrangement. Closer to his arrival, the club will evaluate whether Sullivan can challenge for a first-team place under Enzo Maresca or would benefit from a loan spell.

Barcelona’s reported interest adds intrigue, but City remain his expected destination as his development continues to attract attention across Europe.
