Venezia have parted ways with head coach Giovanni Stroppa after losing their opening six Serie A fixtures, leaving the newly struggling side rooted to the bottom of the standings.
Appointed in June last year, Stroppa successfully led the club back to Italy’s top division after a single season away, securing promotion with a first-place finish in Serie B. However, his team’s poor results at the start of the new campaign ultimately cost him his position.
In an official statement, Venezia thanked Stroppa and his coaching staff for their professionalism, dedication and commitment during their time at the club.
Italian media reports have identified Paolo Zanetti and Davide Nicola as potential candidates to take over the managerial role. Venezia now face a crucial test as they prepare to host eighth-placed Napoli on Saturday, hoping to reverse their fortunes under new leadership and revive their survival hopes.
