Udinese announced the signing of David Alaba

Udinese have completed the signing of David Alaba, with the former Real Madrid defender joining the club on a free transfer. The Italian side announced that the Austrian has signed a contract running until 30 June 2027, describing him as “one of the most successful and decorated players in world football”.

Alaba arrives in Serie A after his Madrid deal expired, ending a spell marked by two strong initial seasons followed by persistent injuries that disrupted his impact. The 32‑year‑old said he is motivated by the chance to compete again, stressing that he still has “a lot to prove” and wants to achieve “something special” with Udinese.

The club views him as a cornerstone for the current campaign, hoping to unlock the best version of a player who previously excelled at Bayern Munich. Alaba’s leadership and experience are expected to play a key role as Udinese aim to stabilise and push upward.
