Michele Pirro believes Ducati will not find rapid solutions to its 2026 MotoGP struggles, admitting the current Desmosedici has reached the end of its development cycle. Speaking to GPOne, the test rider said the issues seen in the first twelve races remain unchanged and that Ducati must approach the final stretch “one race at a time.” With most resources now directed toward the 850cc bike for 2027, Pirro expects only limited progress on the outgoing 1000cc machine.
He noted that performance will continue to vary by circuit, with tracks like Silverstone exposing weaknesses and others offering relief. Pirro still backs Marc Marquez to shine at venues where he traditionally excels, including Aragon and possibly Misano.
The Italian highlighted how fine margins define the 2026 championship, suggesting rider errors could prove decisive. Ducati’s former dominance has faded, and Pirro anticipates the fluctuating competitive order to persist through season’s end.
