Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d’Or after producing an extraordinary 2025/26 season with Bayern Munich and England.
The England captain scored 73 goals and provided eight assists in 65 appearances, surpassing Kylian Mbappe’s 58 goals and 13 assists. Kane also collected the European Golden Shoe and helped Bayern secure the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and German Supercup.
His campaign could have been even greater. Bayern were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals, while England suffered a 2-1 defeat to Argentina at the World Cup semi-final stage before Kane and his teammates claimed bronze.
Kane’s consistency proved decisive, particularly against Mbappe and Lamine Yamal, who also entered the race as leading contenders.
The award makes Kane only the fifth Englishman to win the Ballon d’Or, following Stanley Matthews, Bobby Charlton, Kevin Keegan and Michael Owen.
After years of individual brilliance without the ultimate recognition, Kane finally has football’s biggest individual crown.
